BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Three pairs from Team China, including reigning world champions Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha, will compete at the 2025 World Table Tennis (WTT) China Smash, per the entry list for the doubles events released on Wednesday.
Wang and Sun achieved a three-peat of mixed doubles titles at the World Championships in Doha in May. They join South Korean duo Lim Jong-hoon and Shin Yu-bin, Japan's Sora Matsushima and Miwa Harimoto, Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem of Hong Kong, China, and Spain's Alvaro Robles and Maria Xiao as the top five mixed doubles pairs on the entry list.
Wang will also pair with Lin Shidong for the men's doubles, and contend in the men's singles event.
The other pair from Team China to compete on home soil is women's doubles world No. 1 Wang Manyu and Kuai Man, who are also the reigning world champions.
Other prominent figures include French brothers Alexis and Felix Lebrun in the men's doubles, and Japan's Miwa Harimoto and Satsuki Odo in the women's doubles.
As the final WTT Grand Smash tournament of the season, the China Smash will be held in Shougang Park, Beijing from September 25 to October 5. ■
