NEW DELHI, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- At least five people died and more than 15 were injured when a landslide hit Ardhkuwari area near Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine in Indian-controlled Kashmir on Tuesday, a local police officer said.
The injured were admitted to two local government hospitals, and the identity of the dead was being ascertained.
Heavy rains have battered the area over the past couple of days. ■
