LJUBLJANA, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- In July this year, Slovenia recorded its highest number of tourist arrivals for any July on record, the country's Statistical Office said Monday.

Tourist arrivals rose 2.5 percent year-on-year to 1.05 million, including 900,000 foreign visitors, up 4.7 percent.

"Compared to previous years, this July saw a historic high in tourist numbers, with almost one-third of overnight stays registered in the capital Ljubljana, the seaside town of Piran, and the Alpine resort of Bled," the office said.

July and August are traditionally the peak of Slovenia's tourist season, drawing travelers to its Adriatic coast and Alpine resorts.

In the first seven months of 2025, foreign tourist arrivals climbed 9 percent to nearly 3 million, led by visitors from Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and the Netherlands.

Arrivals from China reached 33,295 in January-July, up 8.4 percent from the same period in 2024.

Slovenia is covered by forests across about 60 percent of its territory.
