Chinese shares close higher Monday

BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.51 percent to 3,883.56 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.26 percent higher at 12,441.07 points. ■
