LISBON, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed on Sunday when a light vehicle crashed on a road in Monchique, Faro district, according to Portugal's civil protection command.
Lusa News Agency reported that the victims were found burned inside the vehicle. The crash also triggered a forest fire, which was quickly brought under control.
Authorities said the road remained closed as of 2:30 p.m. local time while recovery and cleanup operations were underway. ■
