China holds third rehearsal for event marking 80th anniversary of victory over Japanese aggression, fascism
The third comprehensive rehearsal for the upcoming grand gathering to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War concluded in Beijing early Sunday, according to the event's media center.
The rehearsal was held from 5 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday in Tian'anmen Square.

6 students drown, 24 injured in Alexandria beach accident
Six students died and 24 others were injured in a drowning accident on Saturday at a beach in Alexandria governorate, northwest of Cairo, Egypt's Health Ministry said in a statement.
The victims were part of a student group on a field trip organized by an academy specializing in air hospitality, the ministry said. The incident occurred at Abu Talat beach in Alexandria's Agami district.
Iranian forces smash "terror" team, kill 6 members: ministry
Iran's Intelligence Ministry said on Saturday its forces had smashed a "terrorist" team in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, killing six of its members and arresting two others.
Members of the "terror" team, seven non-Iranian nationals, had entered Iran through the country's eastern border during the past days and sought to perpetrate "precarious and targeted terrorist operations," according to a statement published on the ministry's website, which did not specify the date of the operation.■
