TASHKENT, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Foreign tourist arrivals in Uzbekistan jumped 48.9 percent in the first seven months of 2025 from a year earlier, local media reported Saturday, citing the National Statistics Committee.
A total of 6.3 million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan between January and July in 2025, according to the National Statistics Committee.
"This figure increased by nearly 2.1 million people or 48.9 percent compared to the corresponding period last year," the statement said.
Uzbekistan has been working to tap its tourism potential and has developed new historical routes to attract both domestic and foreign visitors, the country's Tourism Committee said last year. ■
