MADRID, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said on Friday that he doesn't want to lose any first team players from now on to the end of the transfer window.
Flick gave his remarks at the press conference ahead of Barca's visit to Levante on Saturday night in their second La Liga game of the season.
Although Barca was able to register goalkeeper Joan Garcia and striker Marcus Rashford in its squad just before last week's opening match in Mallorca, the club's inability to meet La Liga's financial fair play requirements means that defender Gerard Martin and Wojciech Szczesny weren't included in the squad a week ago and won't be in the squad to play Levante.
One solution to the problem could be to sell either defensive midfielder Marc Casado or forward Fermin Lopez, with the fact the two are products of the Barcelona youth system meaning any sale would go down as pure profit.
Flick was asked about the possible sales and made his posture clear, saying he needed the pair for what would be "a very tough season."
"I don't want to lose any player now, it will be a very tough season and we need players of Fermin's quality. He did very well last season and he has started this season well. I am happy with him and I want to keep them all," commented the German, who also discussed Casado, who was first choice for most of the last campaign.
"I've spoken to him and he doesn't want to go and I want him to stay too. He gives us a lot of confidence and that is what I want from him."
"We want to win a lot of titles and that is why we need all of our players," insisted Flick. ■
