ISLAMABAD -- At least 24 people lost their lives and 15 others sustained injuries in rain-triggered incidents across Pakistan in the past 24 hours, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said Thursday.

The highest number of casualties was reported in northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where 21 people died, including 14 children. Southern Sindh province recorded two fatalities, while one death was reported in the Pakistan-controlled Kashmir. (Pakistan-Rain)

KABUL -- Twelve people lost their lives and four others sustained injury as a tractor slid into a river in the southern Afghanistan Helmand province on Friday, provincial director for Information and Culture Hafiz Abdul Bari Rashid said.

TEHRAN -- Five policemen were killed on Friday in an attack by "terrorists" in Iran's southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.
