SEOUL -- Two railway workers were killed and five others were injured on Tuesday after being hit by a train in southeastern South Korea, according to Yonhap news agency.

The passenger train struck seven railway workers, who had been moving to inspect structures on a slope near tracks in the southeastern city of Cheongdo, at about 10:50 a.m. local time (0150 GMT). (South Korea-Train Accident)

COTONOU -- A total of 27 people have been confirmed dead and 16 remained missing after a bus plunged into a river in central Benin early Sunday, authorities said.

There were 52 people on the bus when tragedy struck, Abdel Aziz Bio Djibril, director of the Beninese civil protection agency, said Monday evening. The bus was lifted to the surface on Monday afternoon, and 23 bodies were found inside, he said. (Benin-Accident)

OTTAWA -- Air Canada said Tuesday it will gradually restart operations after reaching a mediated agreement with its flight attendants' union.

Mediation discussions began on the basis that the Canadian Union of Public Employees committed to having the airline's 10,000 flight attendants immediately return to work, allowing Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge to resume operations after being grounded since Saturday, Canada's largest airline said in a news release. GAZA -- At least 30 Palestinians were killed and dozens of others injured by Israeli army in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, according to the Civil Defense in Gaza.
