ULAN BATOR, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change on Tuesday issued a brown bear warning amid fear of potential harm to humans.
The warning came after multiple brown bear sightings were reported near residential areas across Mongolia's northern province of Darkhan-Uul between Aug. 14 and Aug. 15.
According to experts, bear attacks on livestock have increased in recent years due to climate change, food shortages, overexploitation of natural resources, and forest fires.
The ministry has urged residents of some provinces to protect themselves and livestock from potential attacks of brown bears. ■
