BEIRUT -- The Israeli army established on Monday a new military post in the border region of southern Lebanon, as an Israeli drone strike wounded four people, according to Lebanese security and health sources.

GAZA/CAIRO/JERUSALEM -- An anonymous Israeli official told Xinhua on Monday that Israel has received Hamas' response to a Gaza ceasefire proposal, which includes provisions on the release of hostages, but a formal reply to the response has not yet been issued.

TEHRAN -- Iran has repatriated nearly 1.2 million undocumented Afghans since March 21, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni said on Monday.
Momeni told reporters in the northeastern city of Mashhad that more than 70 percent of the repatriations during that period were voluntary, the official news agency IRNA reported. He noted that the highest number of returns took place through the border between Iran's Khorasan Razavi province and Afghanistan's Herat province. (Iran-Afghans-Repatriation)

ISTANBUL -- Civil servants in Türkiye went on a one-day nationwide strike on Monday at the request of union confederations after negotiations with the government over salary increases broke down.
