ISLAMABAD -- A total of 307 people were killed and scores of others injured in rain-related accidents in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province during the last 48 hours, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Saturday.

About 90.6 percent of the fatalities were caused by flash floods, while 6.4 percent resulted from roof collapse accidents, the NDMA said in a statement. (Pakistan-Rain)

SEOUL -- One person was killed and two others were injured as two vessels caught fire at a port in southern South Korea, Yonhap news agency said Saturday.

SYDNEY -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 hit near the east coast of Australia at 9:49 a.m. local time on Saturday (2349 GMT Friday), said Geoscience Australia.
