NEW DELHI -- At least 38 people were killed and 62 others injured Thursday after a massive cloudburst hit Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said.

The cloudburst hit Chositi village of Kishtwar district, about 290 km southeast of Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. According to officials, the massive cloudburst caused a flash flood, leading to widespread damage in the village. MOSCOW -- Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold one-on-one talks with U.S. President Donald Trump before the meeting of delegations from both countries, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said Thursday.

The talks will center on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and "the most pressing international and regional issues," Ushakov said. CANBERRA -- Electric vehicle sales in Australia rose by over 60 percent to a record high in the second quarter of 2025, according to official data.

In a report published on Thursday, the peak motoring NGO, the Australian Automobile Association (AAA), revealed that Australians purchased 29,244 new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in the three months between April and June. It marks an increase of 63.3 percent from the 17,901 new BEV sales registered in the preceding quarter and a new record-high for quarterly sales, surpassing the previous record of 25,696 sales in the second quarter of 2023. SEOUL -- Kim Keon-hee, wife of South Korea's former ousted President Yoon Suk-yeol, on Thursday arrived at a special counsel's office to be questioned over corruption allegations involving the presidential couple.
