JERUSALEM/GAZA -- Israel's military chief Eyal Zamir on Wednesday approved the main framework of a government plan to expand the offensive in Gaza to areas not yet under Israeli control.

SEOUL -- South Korean President Lee Jae-myung will visit Japan for a summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba later this month, Lee's office said Wednesday.

SAO PAULO -- At least nine people were killed and seven others injured on Tuesday in a blast at an explosives factory in Quatro Barras, a municipality in southern Brazil's Parana state, according to local authorities.

NEW DELHI -- At least 11 persons, including seven children and four women, died and 12 others were injured when the private vehicle they were aboard collided with a heavy vehicle parked by the roadside in India's western state of Rajasthan on Wednesday, a local police officer said.
The private vehicle was said to be moving in a high speed when it rammed into the stationary heavy vehicle from behind. (India-Road-Accident) ■
