YANGON, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar marked the 2025 International Youth Day with a ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, the state-owned daily Myanma Alinn reported on Wednesday.
The event was attended by union ministers, government officials, outstanding youths who won gold medals at international competitions, university and science school students, and other invited guests, the report said.
During the event, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung emphasized the key role of human resources in achieving sustainable development in a country, highlighting the strengths and key roles of today's youth in leading the way towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This year's theme for International Youth Day is "Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond." ■
