MOSCOW -- Russia hopes that the upcoming meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump could help normalize bilateral relations, the Russian daily Izvestia reported Tuesday, citing Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
Ryabkov said that the Alaska summit could also help advance the resolution of specific issues, including the resumption of direct passenger flights between the two countries. (Russia-US-Ties)

GENEVA -- The United Nations (UN) on Monday condemned the killing of six Palestinian journalists in Sunday's Israeli airstrike on Gaza City as a "grave breach of international humanitarian law."

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani security forces have killed 50 militants during a four-day operation in the country's southwest Balochistan province, the military said on Tuesday.

KIEV -- Ukraine's new round of drone attacks hit a helium production plant in Russia's Orenburg area, the Interfax-Ukraine news agency reported Tuesday.
