CANBERRA -- Australia will formally recognize a Palestinian state at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in September, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced on Monday.
Speaking at a press conference at Parliament House in Canberra alongside Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong, Albanese said that Australia will recognize the "right" of the Palestinian people to a "state of their own." (Australia-PM-State of Palestine)

ISLAMABAD -- At least eight people were killed and four others injured on Monday in a landslide in the Gilgit district in the northern region of Pakistan, the local police said.
