VIENTIANE, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition highlighting media and publishing products has opened in Laos to mark the 75th anniversary of Mass Media and Publishing Day, offering visitors an insight into the industry's history and achievements.
The event took place here from Monday to Tuesday, organized by the Propaganda and Training Board of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, according to the Lao Security News report.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Vansy Kuamua highlighted the event as not only a celebration of the sector's success but also a reflection of its steady growth and evolution.
Over the past 75 years, he noted, the media and publishing industry has transitioned from traditional print to the digital age, playing a vital role in sharing information, preserving cultural identity, promoting education, and fostering national unity.
A total of 31 booths were featured at the exhibition, including 12 print media and 19 electronic media outlets. ■
