BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Milton Gimenez scored a late equalizer as Boca Juniors earned a 1-1 home draw with Racing Club in Argentina's Primera Division on Saturday.
Racing appeared set for victory after Gabriel Rojas' long-range effort deflected into the path of Santiago Solari, who fired home from close range in the 76th minute.
But Gimenez salvaged a point with a towering 88th-minute header following Leandro Paredes' floating free-kick.
The result at La Bombonera extends Boca's winless run to 12 games across all competitions, the longest in the club's history.
"We played well and created a lot of chances without being able to take advantage of them," Paredes told reporters after the game. "We know that we have to improve. We just have to keep our heads up, work hard and prepare ourselves for what's ahead."
Boca is now 13th in the 15-team Group A standings with three draws and a loss from its first four games of the Clausura tournament, a point behind Racing.
In other fixtures on Saturday, Rosario Central drew 0-0 at Atletico Tucuman, Belgrano won 2-1 at home against Banfield, River Plate held Independiente to a goalless home draw, and Sarmiento prevailed 1-0 at San Martin. ■
