MOSCOW, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Russian air defense forces shot down two Ukrainian drones flying towards the capital Moscow, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Saturday.
The ministry said that between 8 a.m. (0500 GMT) and 12 p.m. (0900 GMT) Moscow time Saturday, the Russian military shot down a total of 44 Ukrainian drones within Russian territory. Over the Moscow Oblast, three drones were shot down, two of which were heading toward Moscow.
On the same day, the Russian Ministry of Defense also stated that the Russian troops have taken control of the village of Yablonovka in the Donetsk region. ■
