KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese air force had destroyed an Emirati aircraft carrying Colombian mercenaries while it was landing at an airport controlled by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces in the Darfur region of western Sudan, official Sudan TV reported on Wednesday.

DAMASCUS -- Syria signed a series of investment memoranda worth a total of 14 billion U.S. dollars with foreign companies on Wednesday, according to state-run SANA news agency.
