LONDON, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Britain's Birmingham Airport confirmed on its social media on Wednesday that following an aircraft incident, the runway of the airport has been temporarily closed.
The statement did not indicate the nature of the incident.
The airport said it will keep passengers already at the airport informed. Those due to travel later today are advised to check the status of their flight before coming to the airport.
This incident came after a widespread flight disruption last week, when flights at all major airports were brought to a standstill. ■
