NEW DELHI -- At least six workers died and 10 were injured in a quarry accident in India's southern state of Andhra Pradesh, confirmed the local police on Monday.

RAMALLAH -- A Palestinian youth was killed and another wounded on Monday during a military operation by the Israeli army in the northern West Bank, according to Palestinian sources.

LISBON -- A wildfire in Portugal's Peneda-Geres National Park has burned 5,786 hectares of protected area, according to preliminary data released Monday by the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF).

The fire that broke out on July 26 in the municipality of Ponte da Barca has been under control since Sunday. It has scorched a total of 7,550 hectares, with 5,786 hectares within the national park, the ICNF said in its latest assessment. (Portugal-Wildfire)

GAZA -- A total of 35 Palestinians were killed on Monday in Israeli shelling and gunfire across Gaza, at least 12 of those while waiting for humanitarian aid, according to the Gaza Civil Defense.

Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense, said 11 Palestinians were killed in Israeli shelling targeting their homes in the Shuja'iyya area, east of Gaza City, five killed in Israeli shelling targeting a group of citizens in the Al-Tawam area, northwest of the city, and two more killed in the Beit Lahia area, north of the city.
