NEW YORK, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 jolted east of Kuril Islands at 1820 GMT on Friday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 50.21 degrees north latitude and 159.09 degrees east longitude. ■
