JERUSALEM, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Four Royal Moroccan Air Force planes carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza weighing some 180 tonnes arrived at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport on Thursday, according to Israeli media reports.
According to a statement issued by Morocco's Foreign Ministry, the aid, sent by order of Moroccan King Mohammed VI, consists of basic food, milk, children's products, medicines, surgical equipment, blankets and suitable tents, among others.
It will be transported with trucks via a specially arranged route for rapid and direct delivery to Palestinian beneficiaries, said the statement.
The aid, the latest of its kind from the international community, came as Israel has been waging a massive war in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, which has killed more than 60,000 people, injured more than 147,000, and caused significant destruction to buildings and infrastructure.
A total of 154 people, including 89 children, have died from starvation and malnutrition, Gaza-based health authorities said Wednesday. ■
