NEW YORK -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday lifted its global growth forecast in 2025 to 3 percent, 0.2 percentage point higher from its projection in April, according to an update to its World Economic Outlook.
Emerging market and developing economies are now expected to grow by 4.1 percent in 2025, 0.4 percentage point higher than the April forecast, according to the latest update. (IMF-World Economy-Forecast)

KAMPALA -- Four people were killed and 13 others injured after a passenger taxi plunged into a river in Uganda's eastern district of Busia on Tuesday, police said.

BANGKOK -- The Thai-Cambodian border is now calm following small clashes after the ceasefire came into effect as agreed by the two governments, Thailand's acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai said on Tuesday.
In response to reports of continued exchange of fire at the borders after the ceasefire, Phumtham said it could be caused by undisciplined Cambodian soldiers and that the Thai side has responded proportionately, and the situation "is calm now." (Thailand-Cambodia-Ceasefire) ■
