NEW YORK, July 28 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Monday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 64.36 points, or 0.14 percent, to 44,837.56. The S&P 500 added 1.13 points, or 0.02 percent, to 6,389.77. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 70.27 points, or 0.33 percent, to 21,178.58.
Eight of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in red, with real estate and materials leading the laggards by losing 1.75 percent and 1.44 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, energy and technology led the gainers by rising 1.15 percent and 0.77 percent, respectively. ■
