JERUSALEM -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to present to the Israeli security cabinet a plan to annex parts of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Monday night.
According to the report, Netanyahu told Israeli ministers that Israel has given Hamas a few days to agree to a ceasefire, or Israel will begin to gradually annex parts of the Strip in stages until Hamas surrenders. (Israel-Gaza-Annexation)

LOS ANGELES -- At least two people were killed and several others injured in a shooting Monday morning outside a casino in Reno city, the U.S. state of Nevada, local media reported.
The Reno Police Department said that officers responded at 7:25 a.m. local time (1425 GMT) to a report of an active shooter at the Grand Sierra Resort, local newspaper Reno Gazette-Journal reported. (U.S.-Shooting)

BEIRUT -- A Hezbollah member was killed and four civilians were injured Monday in an Israeli drone strike on southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese sources.
The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Health Ministry said in a press release that the drone strike targeted "a motorcycle in (the town of) Bint Jbeil," whereas a Lebanese security source told Xinhua that the victim was "Haitham Mohammad Idris, a local of Bint Jbeil and a member of Hezbollah." ADDIS ABABA -- United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday warned that conflict has continued to drive hunger, as he urged the global community to "never accept" hunger as a weapon of war.
Guterres, addressing the Second UN Food Systems Summit in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa in a video message, expressed concern over the lack of progress in realizing shared commitments in ensuring global food systems that are inclusive, sustainable, equitable, resilient, and rooted in human rights.
