TOKYO, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended higher on Thursday, with the Nikkei benchmark closing at a new one-year high and the Topix index at a record high, lifted by eased concerns over the impact of U.S. tariffs on the Japanese economy following Japan-U.S. trade deal.

Japan's benchmark Nikkei stock index, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, ended up 655.02 points, or 1.59 percent, from Wednesday at 41,826.34.

The broader Topix index, meanwhile, finished 51.17 points, or 1.75 percent, higher at 2,977.55.

The Nikkei index advanced with all industry sectors rising, after Tokyo and Washington agreed that U.S. tariffs on imported Japanese cars and other goods will be 15 percent, analysts said.

Meanwhile, after the benchmark rose above the 42,000 line at one point, some investors moved to lock in profits from recent market gains.
