VLADIVOSTOK, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Debris of a passenger plane that went missing on Thursday was discovered in Russia's Far Eastern Amur Region, with no survivors reported, said local emergency services.
The An-24 aircraft, operated by Angara Airlines, was en route from Khabarovsk to Tynda with a stopover in Blagoveshchensk. There were 43 passengers on board, along with six crew members, Amur Oblast Governor Vasily Orlov said on social media Telegram.
The wreckage was found on a mountainside approximately 15 km from the city of Tynda, according to emergency services.
"There were no reports from the crew regarding any problems or technical malfunctions, and no distress signals were transmitted," the TASS news agency quoted local emergency services as saying.
The aircraft was expected to contact air traffic controllers at a control checkpoint near the Tynda airport, but failed to check in at the point.
Search and rescue personnel have been sent to the site. ■
