DAMASCUS -- Syria's National Committee for Investigation and Fact-Finding said Tuesday it has submitted to authorities its final report on the March coastal violence, confirming 1,426 deaths while attributing violations to both "remnants" of the former government and elements of the current security forces.
After four months of field investigations across 33 towns, including mass grave inspections and 938 witness testimonies, the committee identified 265 individuals suspected of major violations including murder, torture, and property destruction, committee spokesperson Yasser Farhan said here at a press conference. GAZA -- At least 27 Palestinians were killed and dozens of others injured on Tuesday in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting several areas across the Gaza Strip, according to Gaza's Civil Defense authorities.
Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, told Xinhua that 16 people, including women and children, were killed and more than 50 others wounded when Israeli warplanes targeted tents sheltering displaced individuals in the al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City. KHARTOUM -- A total of 1,307 new cholera cases, including 18 deaths, were reported in Sudan over the past week, the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday.
"Between July 12 and 18, a total of 1,307 cholera cases were recorded, including 18 deaths, across 35 localities in 12 states," the ministry said in a statement. (Sudan-Cholera-Cases)

JERUSALEM -- Israel's state-owned Kan TV News reported Tuesday that progress has been made in indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas over a Gaza ceasefire agreement, including the release of hostages and prisoners.
