PHNOM PENH, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia exported products worth 2.4 billion U.S. dollars to the European Union (EU) market in the first half of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 20.6 percent from 1.99 billion dollars, said an official report on Monday.

The EU market accounted for 16.3 percent of the kingdom's total export volume of 14.7 billion dollars during the January-June period this year, said the report compiled by the Ministry of Commerce.

Cambodia's top five export destinations in the EU are Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Belgium, the report added.

"Main products Cambodia exported to EU were apparels, textiles, shoes, travel goods, bags, bicycles, car tires, and some electronic devices as well as potential agricultural produce such as rice, rubber, cashew nuts, casava starch, bananas and longans," Ministry of Commerce's Secretary of State and spokesperson Penn Sovicheat told Xinhua.

Meanwhile, the Southeast Asian country recorded a total import of 375.6 million dollars from the EU in the first half of this year, down 20 percent from 470 million dollars over the same period last year, according to the report.

Main goods Cambodia imported from the EU were machinery, home appliances, pharmaceuticals, vehicles, pearls and precious stones, textiles, and electrical items, among others.
