Chinese shares close higher Friday

BEIJING, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.5 percent to 3,534.48 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.37 percent higher at 10,913.84 points. ■
