MINSK, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian gross domestic product (GDP) grew 2.1 percent year on year in the first half of this year, data from the country's statistical committee showed Wednesday.
The country's GDP in the first six months amounted to 129.4 billion Belarusian rubles (about 44 billion U.S. dollars) in current prices, said the committee.
The GDP deflator index for January-June 2025 was 111.9 percent compared with the same period of 2024, it said.
Belarus' economy grew 4 percent in 2024, slightly higher than predicted.
Meanwhile, retail trade rose 9 percent to 48.2 billion rubles in the first six months. On a per capita basis, daily retail sales increased to 29.2 rubles from 25.8 rubles in the same period last year. ■
