BISHKEK, July 15 (Xinhua) -- The gross domestic product of Kyrgyzstan grew by 11.7 percent year on year to reach more than 8.1 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of this year, the National Statistics Committee reported on Tuesday.

Commodity production increased by 15 percent, while the service sector rose by 10 percent and net taxes on products rose by 11.4 percent, respectively, said the report.

Positive trends were observed in the hotel and restaurant services sector with an annual surge of 49.1 percent, and the construction sector registered a year-on-year growth of 42.5 percent in volume, it said.

Wholesale and retail trade, including car and motorcycle repairs, rose by 12.1 percent between January and June compared to a year before, while cargo transportation expanded by 12.5 percent, it added.

Trade in goods amounted to 5.77 billion dollars in the first five months of 2025, down 14.4 percent year on year, according to the statistics agency.
