JAKARTA, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia recorded a carbon trading volume of 1,599,326 tons of CO₂e with a transaction value of 77.95 billion rupiah (around 4.79 million U.S. dollars) since the launch of the Carbon Exchange (IDXCarbon) on Sept. 26, 2023 to July 11, 2025, the Indonesia Stock Exchange said on Tuesday.
"IDXCarbon is firmly committed to facilitating carbon trading by providing a reliable yet flexible secondary market to meet the needs of market participants, while prioritizing a transparent, fair, orderly, and efficient market," said Iman Rachman, president director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
A total of eight projects are officially registered with IDXCarbon, covering various clean energy and waste management sectors, which demonstrates IDXCarbon's strategic role in supporting the clean energy transition and achieving national greenhouse gas emission reduction targets. ■
