BEIRUT, July 11 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and five others injured on Friday in an Israeli drone strike targeting a car in the town of Al-Numairiyah in southern Lebanon, according to official and security sources.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the car on the road in Al-Numairiyah was targeted by the drone with four missiles, and ambulances rushed to the scene.

"The strike resulted in the killing of one person and injuries to five others, two of them are in critical condition," it said.

Meanwhile, the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Health Ministry confirmed in a press release that "the Israeli enemy's drone strike on a car in Al-Numairiyah in Nabatieh district resulted in one death and five injuries."

A Lebanese security source told Xinhua that "the person killed in the Al-Numairiyah strike was named Mohammad Hassan Shuaib."

Since Nov. 27, 2024, a ceasefire agreement has been in place between Hezbollah and Israel, brokered by the United States and France, putting an end to their confrontations.

Despite the agreement, the Israeli army still maintains a presence at five key positions along the Lebanese border and continues to carry out occasional strikes in Lebanon, claiming they target Hezbollah "threats."
