NEW YORK, July 10 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar strengthened in late trading on Thursday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, added 0.1 percent to 97.652 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro declined to 1.1692 dollars from 1.1714 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound fell to 1.3574 dollars from 1.3588 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 146.24 Japanese yen, lower than 146.33 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar increased to 0.7971 Swiss francs from 0.7949 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.3672 Canadian dollars from 1.3694 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar advanced to 9.5155 Swedish kronor from 9.5152 Swedish kronor. ■
