KABUL -- A coalmine worker lost his life and another sustained injury as a tunnel of a coalmine collapsed in northern Afghanistan's Samangan province on Thursday, provincial police spokesman Hashmatullah Rahmani said Friday.
The accident took place in Dara-i-Sufi Bala district when the ill-fated miners were busy extracting coal from the mines, the official said, adding police have handed over the body of the miner to his family, and the injured one has been shifted to the hospital. (Afghanistan-Coalmine-Death)

ISLAMABAD -- At least nine passengers were abducted and shot dead after gunmen intercepted at least two buses in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, the spokesperson of the provincial government confirmed on Friday.

MANILA -- Four people, including a flight instructor, were injured after a four-seater Cessna 172 plane crashed into a farmland in Zambales province, northwest of Manila, on Friday morning, aviation authorities said.
