NEW YORK, July 2 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Wednesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.05 percent to 96.777 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro increased to 1.1800 dollars from 1.1781 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound fell to 1.3636 dollars from 1.3738 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 143.62 Japanese yen, lower than 143.72 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar decreased to 0.7914 Swiss francs from 0.7927 Swiss francs, and it declined to 1.3596 Canadian dollars from 1.3652 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar added to 9.5216 Swedish kronor from 9.4925 Swedish kronor. ■
