YANGON, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's Department of Rural Development will implement 14 water supply works across 12 villages in southern Myanmar's Tanintharyi region in the 2025-26 fiscal year, Ye Khaung, Director of the Department of Rural Development (Tanintharyi region) told Xinhua on Monday.
The planned works include the construction of shallow tube wells and hand-dug wells, pond excavations, pipeline installations, and spring water systems, he said.
These efforts aim to provide clean drinking water for rural communities and help prevent water shortages during the summer, he added.
Once completed, these works will benefit about 10,800 people from 2,359 households in 12 villages in Tanintharyi region, he said. ■
