KABUL, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Local authorities have inaugurated 10 school buildings in eastern Afghanistan's Ghazni province, state-run Bakhtar news agency reported Friday.
Funded by the administration, the buildings were built at a cost of 110 million afghani (about 1.6 million U.S. dollars) on the outskirts of Ab Band, Gelan, and Ajristan districts of the province, the report said.
The construction of the schools has improved access to education for students who previously lacked an adequate learning environment, the report added.
About 11 million children, according to officials, are currently attending state-owned and private schools in Afghanistan. ■
