NEW YORK, June 25 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Wednesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.18 percent to 97.679 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro increased to 1.1661 U.S. dollars from 1.1623 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound climbed to 1.3663 dollars from 1.3631 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 145.16 Japanese yen, higher than 144.69 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar decreased to 0.8042 Swiss francs from 0.8044 Swiss francs, and it was up to 1.3728 Canadian dollars from 1.3724 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar declined to 9.4854 Swedish Kronor from 9.5233 Swedish Kronor. ■
