TUNIS, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia has reiterated its unequivocal condemnation of the blatant Israeli aggression against Iran, as well as the subsequent U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, according to a statement issued by the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.
The ministry stressed that Tunisia not only denounces these actions but also calls for their immediate cessation, affirming that "international legality neither authorizes nor justifies such acts under any cover or pretext."
Tunisia also warned against allowing this "brutal aggression" to overshadow ongoing atrocities elsewhere, particularly the war against the Palestinian people.
The ministry accused certain media outlets of deliberately shifting focus away from Israeli actions in Palestine, suggesting a coordinated effort to silence the Palestinians' struggle for liberation.
"The determination of the Palestinian people will never be broken or diminished until they reclaim all their legitimate rights and establish an independent, fully sovereign state across the entire territory of Palestine," the statement noted.
Concluding its remarks, the ministry warned that the post-World War II international legal order is collapsing.
The statement followed U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement on Sunday that American forces had carried out strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
The strikes came amid an escalating military conflict between Iran and Israel, now entering its second week.
In response, Iran condemned what it called Washington's "brutal aggression" against its sovereignty and held the United States fully responsible for the grave consequences of what it described as a "serious crime." ■
