JAKARTA, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia and Russia agreed to launch an investment platform worth 2 billion euros (2.3 billion U.S. dollars) for bilateral technology transfer, enabling bilateral exchange of industrial knowledge, applied research, and advanced solutions.

The agreement to set up the Russia-Indonesia Investment Platform was signed between Indonesia's superholding Danantara and the Russian Direct Investment Fund during Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's visit to Russia.

"By driving joint innovation and capacity-building, the platform aims to accelerate industrial advancement, support the development of a competitive innovation ecosystem, and enhance technological self-reliance in strategic sectors such as infrastructure, energy, advanced manufacturing, and food security," said Danantara in an official post on its Instagram account on Friday.

In addition to the investment, both countries are also committed to strengthening cross-sectoral strategic relations amid ever-changing global dynamics, according to a press statement by Indonesia's presidential press office.

Among the agreements are memoranda of understanding in the fields of education, as well as in transportation, digital development, and mass media.
