NEW YORK, June 18 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Wednesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, added 0.09 percent to 98.906 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.1475 U.S. dollars from 1.1479 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound lost to 1.3415 dollars from 1.3428 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 145.05 Japanese yen, lower than 145.37 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.8191 Swiss francs from 0.8170 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3695 Canadian dollars from 1.3645 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar climbed to 9.6485 Swedish Kronor from 9.5496 Swedish Kronor. ■
