JERUSALEM -- Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Tuesday that Israel is not engaged in any negotiations with Iran to halt the deadly aerial conflict that began with a large-scale Israeli strike on Friday.
"We are not engaged in any negotiations, and we will not allow harm to Israeli civilians," Katz told reporters during a visit to Herzliya, a coastal city north of Tel Aviv, where a missile fired from Iran struck earlier. (Israel-Iran-Talks)

GAZA -- The Israeli army on Tuesday morning killed at least 51 Palestinians waiting for aid in Khan Younis, the southern Gaza Strip, Gaza-based health authorities said.
More than 200 others were injured -- including 20 critically -- in the Israeli attack near the Al-Tahlia roundabout in Khan Younis, where a large crowd had gathered in anticipation of a food aid distribution, health authorities said in a statement. (Gaza Strip-Palestine-Israel)

JOHANNESBURG -- A bus and a truck collided head-on on the R34 near Vryheid, South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal Province, on Monday, resulting in the death of 12 people, said a KwaZulu-Natal provincial government official on Tuesday.

MOSCOW -- Washington canceled the planned Russia-U.S. meeting aimed at eliminating irritants in bilateral relations, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Monday.
"We hope that the pause they took will not be too long," Zakharova said.
