CHIFENG, June 16 (Xinhua) -- In mid-June, herders from the Ar Horqin Grassland in Chifeng, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, begin their seasonal migration. This year, over 1,200 households drive 128,000 livestock from their winter settlement toward their summer pastures. The Ar Horqin Grassland Nomadic System was formally recognized as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS) by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in May 2022.
