ULAN BATOR, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's inflation, as measured by the consumer price index, eased to 8.3 percent in May, local media reported on Friday, citing the National Statistics Office (NSO).

The slowdown in inflation was driven by lower price increases for food items, such as meat and flour, as well as imported goods, the NSO said in a statement.

Mongolia's central bank targets an inflation rate within a range of 5 percent (+/- 2.0 percentage points) from 2027 to support macroeconomic and financial sector stability in the medium-term.
